Chapter 395 - 388: As Long as I Find Her
In no time, Seth Quinn was standing at the door of the private room at The Tuberose. The moment he saw the familiar figure inside, his heart, which had been caught in his throat, finally settled.
’All that matters is that I found her!’
Fortunately, he had spoken to the manager here a few days ago. He’d arranged for Clara Grant to have free access to their regular private room, even if she came alone.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have known where to look for her.
In the private room, aside from Clara Grant slumped haphazardly on the sofa, there was a waiter in the corner—likely the one who had just called him.
When the waiter heard the door open and turned to see Seth Quinn, he let out a huge sigh of relief. Miss Grant was a one-drink lightweight, yet she had been pestering him for more. Naturally, he hadn’t dared to get her another drink, but he also couldn’t risk offending her. She was President Quinn’s girlfriend, after all!
So, he had only dared to stand at a distance, just making sure she didn’t do anything drastic to hurt herself. Now that President Quinn was here, he could consider his duty fulfilled.
Seth Quinn walked over to Clara Grant’s side. He looked at her flushed face and half-closed eyes; she looked like she’d had a lot to drink, yet there weren’t many bottles on the table.
He frowned. With his eyes still fixed on Clara Grant, he asked the waiter behind him, "How much did she drink?"
"Miss Grant only had one glass," the waiter said, holding up one finger. He hadn’t expected her tolerance to be so low, either.
’No wonder she only ordered one glass when she first came in. She must know her own limits.’
’But after that one glass, she must have been tipsy but not quite satisfied, so she asked for a second. He hadn’t dared give her one, seeing how she was already swaying.’
’Even though they wouldn’t dare refuse a request from President Quinn’s girlfriend, he dared even less to just stand by and watch her drink herself into oblivion.’
’Before long, when he looked at her again, she had already collapsed onto the sofa and muttered President Quinn’s name. So, he took her phone and called President Quinn to come and get her.’
When Seth Quinn heard she’d only had one glass, he shook his head with a helpless, wry smile. She really was a one-and-done kind of drinker.
"You may go," Seth Quinn said to the waiter, not tearing his eyes away from the young woman who was already drunk and dazed.
The waiter nodded and quietly slipped out the door.
Standing at the door, he glanced inside one more time. From his angle, he could just see Seth Quinn’s profile.
He wasn’t sure if it was the light or if the lines of Seth Quinn’s face had genuinely softened, but he felt that Seth Quinn’s usually cold, indifferent expression was now radiating boundless tenderness. Even without seeing his eyes, it was easy to imagine they were filled with adoration.
The waiter pulled his gaze away and closed the door.
’When President Quinn had first given the order that Miss Grant could use this room as she pleased, they’d all sensed that the relationship between them was something special. After all, in this very room, Lord Sterling would sometimes call for hostesses or bring other women.’
’President Jennings brought his girlfriend here too, but President Quinn had never once brought a woman—let alone personally ordered that one be given free access.’
’And sure enough, a couple of days ago, the news of their passionate romance really did break.’
’Add to that President Quinn’s harsh words on the phone from his earlier misunderstanding, and now the look in his eyes as he watched Miss Grant, so full of tenderness and adoration... ’
’*Sigh*... Looks like I’ll have to go tell all the women here with designs on President Quinn that he is truly, deeply in love with Miss Grant. They should stop daydreaming!’
