Chapter 367 - 222: This Is the Master’s Command (2)
"Wizard Tower!"
The towering structure before their eyes was unmistakably a Wizard Tower.
Although Lize had yet to build her own Wizard Tower, she had seen countless Wizard Towers and recognized this one at first glance.
Even though it was just a small Wizard Tower, it left her deeply awestruck.
In the flourishing era of wizards, it was rare but not unheard of for a Level 1 Wizard to build a Wizard Tower.
But this is the Starlight Continent right in the midst of the Elemental Desert!
In a situation where resources were extremely scarce, it was unimaginable how Sunan managed to build a Wizard Tower here.
It took Lize quite some time to snap back to reality, turning her head to look at Sunan as if he was some kind of astonishing entity.
"I’m curious, are you able to conjure resources out of thin air?"
Sunan smiled and said, "This Wizard Tower is not yet fully built."
"Even so, judging by your look, completion is just a matter of time, right?"
Seeing Sunan did not deny it, Lize couldn’t help but ask, "How exactly did you manage this?"
"It’s simple, by uniting the entire Starlight Continent, you can gather enough resources."
It took Lize a while to grasp Sunan’s meaning, and she exclaimed, "You unified the Starlight Continent?"
Sunan glanced at her and retorted, "Is it that hard for a Wizard to unify the Starlight Continent?"
Lize fell silent, her lips twitching slightly.
Indeed, an Official Wizard was overwhelmingly powerful in today’s Starlight Continent, so unifying it wasn’t difficult.
Pure power could subdue the entire continent, rendering everyone too afraid to resist.
But to harness the continent’s power to gather resources and build a Wizard Tower requires more than sheer strength.
Not to mention that even just the basic material’s demonization treatment for the tower needs a multitude of Wizard Apprentices.
Otherwise, relying on one person alone would take a hundred years if ever completed.
Sunan must have a large, well-structured organization efficiently collecting resources for him.
And probably also a large number of Wizard Apprentices to handle the vast and complex basic tasks.
Not every Wizard can achieve this.
At least, Lize, upon honest self-reflection, even if she could restore her body and regain wizard powers, couldn’t accomplish what Sunan did.
Not even in a thousand years.
Not to mention that the large-scale training of Wizard Apprentices alone is an insurmountable hurdle.
She didn’t have that many resources to spend on it.
For a moment, Lize felt more and more areas of Sunan were enigmatic and completely impenetrable.
Upon entering the Wizard Tower, Sunan took Lize to the control center, summoned Tower Spirit No. 1, and granted Lize access privileges just below his, allowing her free entry and exit to most parts of the Wizard Tower.
With the Oath Contract’s restrictions, Sunan wasn’t worried about Lize doing anything unfavorable to him and gave her ample trust to fulfill her assistant duties better.
After that, Sunan went to the Dragon Remains Tower, summoned Butler No. 1, and similarly granted Lize secondary access privileges.
With this, she could roam almost all areas of the Dragon Forest without obstruction.
"I will focus on training and building the Wizard Tower next, so you’ll handle the affairs of the Star Alliance and Dragon Forest. Familiarize yourself with these matters quickly, and if there’s anything you don’t understand, you can ask Carolina and the Red Widow."
Sunan briefly explained the composition of the Star Alliance; the rest was up to Lize to consult the materials.
Upon returning to the Dragon Forest, Sunan immediately contacted Carolina and the Red Widow.
Therefore, he barely sat down in the study before the two women swiftly arrived.
"Master."
Carolina and the Red Widow bowed respectfully, stealing glances at Lize with faint surprise.
A Ghost?
When did the master start keeping a ghost?
And quite a beautiful one at that.
Simultaneously, Lize unobtrusively observed Carolina and the Red Widow, equally surprised.
A human-faced lion noble and a vampire, what kind of combination is this?
From Sunan’s previous words, these two alien races were undeniably at the core of the Star Alliance’s leadership.
Allowing two alien races to reach such a high position... could they be Sunan’s concubines?
Ignorant of the three women’s thoughts, Sunan pointed to Lize and said:
"This is Lize Russell, an ancestor of the Russell Clan and the only Wizard in its history. Due to some incident, she is now in a ghost form."
Carolina and the Red Widow’s eyes simultaneously showed signs of surprise.
Of course, they knew about the Russell Clan.
After all, numerous students from the Russell Clan and three instructors currently reside in the Starlight Academy.
With such a long-standing wizard clan joining the Star Alliance, they certainly investigated thoroughly and knew of the Russell Clan’s historical Wizard presence.
But they never imagined that the Wizard was the ghostly woman standing before them!
How could she appear here?
Instantly, Carolina and the Red Widow were deeply curious about the incident Sunan mentioned.
Yet, since Sunan didn’t explain, they dared not ask more.
However, what came next from Sunan’s mouth left the two women utterly astonished.
"From now on, Lize will serve as my assistant to handle Star Alliance affairs and, in my absence, act on my behalf to approve matters."
Inside, Carolina and the Red Widow were overwhelmed by a tidal wave of emotions.
Is this really just an assistant’s role?
If so, this woman named Lize would effectively become second in command, with authority surpassing everyone else in the Star Alliance!
The two women were both startled and envious for a moment.
They had been in the Star Alliance for so long without attaining such significant power. Why did this woman, upon arriving, immediately outrank them?
Does the master trust this woman that much?
"Any issues?" Sunan asked calmly, looking at the two of them.
Abruptly awakening from their stupor, Carolina and the Red Widow quickly composed themselves and humbly bowed their heads.
"Yes, Master."
Sunan squinted his eyes slightly but said nothing more.
He could certainly tell what Carolina and the Red Widow were thinking.
The reason for granting Lize such authority was a belief that, as a wizard, Lize would undoubtedly manage Star Alliance affairs better than the two women.
Ultimately, the Star Alliance was a Wizard Organization.
Even though it was only in its infancy, precisely because of this, having a Wizard manage and oversee matters was undoubtedly more secure.
Moreover, Lize was once a member of the Starfall Association and held more experience in Wizard Organization dynamics than others.
Sunan only needed to be the helmsman, maintaining a general direction, while the specific affairs could all be entrusted to Lize.
Sunan then summoned Secret Puppet No. 1, and handed the codex to the puppet girl.
"Secret Puppet No. 1 will heed your commands from now on."
Lize couldn’t stray too far from the codex, and to act freely, someone had to carry the codex, making a puppet the most suitable choice for this task.
Lize curiously eyed the puppet girl several times.
Her wizard insight immediately detected the puppet girl’s unusual nature.
"A puppet with Mithril and diamond as the core materials? Even if it isn’t of Wizard Level-grade, it shouldn’t be far off."
Lize pondered secretly.
Having arranged all matters, Sunan waved them off, allowing the three to depart.
Upon leaving the study, without giving Carolina and the Red Widow a chance to speak, Lize said without looking back:
"Arrange a quiet room and bring all the Star Alliance materials there. I want to review them thoroughly."
"Yes, Lady Lize."
As they watched Lize depart with the puppet girl, the Red Widow lifted her head subtly, glanced at Carolina, and whispered:
"Are you content seeing her rise above us?"
Carolina remained unfazed. "And what if not? She is a Wizard."
"That was in the past; now she’s merely a ghost."
"But still a wizard’s ghost," Carolina lowered her eyes, "More importantly, it’s the master’s command."
Red Widow hesitated to speak further, biting her lip in frustration, ultimately staying silent.
